EU banking and financial services
This theme investigated the developments and challenges of the enforcement of EU law in the field of EU banking and financial services law. Its activities kicked off at King’s College London with a roundtable in April 2020. The roundtable started the discussion with the aim to match daily practical experiences of enforcement in this field with academic theory. It also developed the themes that formed the basis for a call for papers presented at a conference in September 2022, which allowed for a discussion between academics and PhD students, and other relevant stakeholders.
This theme was incorporated in EULEN’s teaching activities through an online lecture on developments in enforcement in the field of EU banking and financial services law and a lecture on the ‘Role and function of joint supervisory teams in the Single Supervisory Mechanism’. Its research activity focused on the topic ‘Enforcement co-ordination and accountability in the Single Supervisory Mechanism’.
